Lubricity Labs Announces Product Line For Salons

March 06, 2019 2 min read

When single father Dr. Boyce Clark found himself struggling to help his daughter tame her unruly, frizzy hair, he turned to science for a solution.

After finding that traditional retail products didn't provide long-term results and professional salon treatments contained harsh toxins such as formaldehyde, Dr. Clark challenged the status-quo of the beauty industry, using his PhD in Geochemistry to create an innovative line of haircare products that produce incredible results, without sacrificing health or ethical practices.

Thus, Lubricity Labs was born.  Consumers rejoiced as their frizzy hair woes disappeared, but Dr. Clark knew he could do more.  So he went back into the lab, searching for ways to improve upon existing professional anti-frizz treatments that use toxic ingredients and produce noxious fumes that are dangerous to clients and salon stylists.

Once again, he had a breakthrough, creating two professional-only salon smoothing treatments using 100% naturally derived ingredients to block the frizzing effects of humidity, while adding incredible shine, softness and manageability.

Q-Smooth by Lubricity Labs

  • Q-Smooth was the first professional-only salon smoothing treatment for Lubricity, launched in August, 2018.  It is a quick application that can be easily added to your regular salon appointment.  Results last up to 6 weeks/8 washes and include frizz control, de-bulking, incredible shine and softness.

Total Smooth by Lubricity Labs

  • Total Smooth is the second of Lubricity’s professional-only salon smoothing treatments, launched in March, 2019.  It is comparable to existing salon smoothing treatments (think keratin or Brazilian) with long-term results of 4-6 months but with zero harsh toxins – no harsh fumes, no harmful chemicals (no formaldehyde or its derivatives).  It is also the first ever salon smoothing treatment to be certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny.  Max frizz blocking, smooths and de-bulks hair, and reduces curls by up to 3 curl patterns.

Lubricity Labs products are safe for all hair types, including color- and chemically-treated hair. Non-GMO, paraben-free, contain no added sulfates, and are certified Cruelty-Free by Leaping Bunny.

Whether you want frizz-free curls or a smooth, straight look that won't "grow" as the humidity levels rise, Lubricity Labs has a product solution for you.

It’s not every day you hear about a father starting a hair care company to fight his daughter’s frizz. But it’s not every day you meet a dad like Dr. Boyce Clark, either. His daughter, Alden, had just turned 11 when her hair started changing textures and became coarse. The single dad spent hours before school brushing his daughter’s tresses.
